It is great that
you are interested in how to become a Christian. It is the most
important decision you could ever make! Hopefully, this page will make
it clear for you! God created us so that we could walk with Him and talk
with Him. But you know some times in life, we make wrong decisions -
such as telling a lie or taking something that's not ours. |
|
And because we make
those decisions it seems as if our life is turned upside down. When our
life is upside down we aren't in the relationship that God intended for
us. |
|
Those wrong
decisions that we made are called sins. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have
sinned and fall short of the glory of God." So everyone has sinned and
that is all the red lines that separate us from God in the picture.
Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." So because of our sin we need
forgiveness, otherwise; we should die not only physically but
spiritually. |

However, God has a
gift for us if only we will receive it. John 3:16 says, "For God so
loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes
in him shall not perish but have eternal life." We must believe that
Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he came to earth, lived a
sinless life and died on a cross for our sins. |
|
We must also
believe that Jesus arose from the dead three days later to overcome sin
and death. Romans 10: 9, 10 and 13 says, "If you confess with your
mouth, Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from
the dead you shall be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe
and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are
saved. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

We want to
encourage you to pray this prayer right now. Be sure to think about what
each sentence is saying. Just saying a prayer won't save you, but making
the right changes in your heart will. Pray something like this... "Lord
Jesus, I have been trying to live life the way I thought was best. I
realize now that was wrong and that the sins I have committed have been
against you. I want to turn from my sins to you. Please forgive me of my
sins. Please come into my life and be the Lord of my life. From this day
forward, I commit my life and all that I am to you. Thank you for dying
on the cross for MY sins. Thank you for allowing me to be your child
again. AMEN." |
