We offer Children's church at both the 9:00 am service and the 11:00 am service. In Children's Church we include stories, games and puzzles to help drive the lesson home to each of the children. The children enjoy their time together in the mornings, and we have great times learning about God in a different way every week. Children's Church has classes for Kindergarten through 5th grade.
How does Children's Church work? In both services, the children arrive with their parents at the Sanctuary for Worship. At the 9:00 service, the children may sit with their parents until right before the message, when Children's Church is dismissed. The teacher will stand up, announce that Children's Church is dismissed, and then lead the children down to the classroom. At the 11:00 service, there will be a Children's Sermon after the offering is brought to the front of the Sanctuary, and the Doxology is sung. The children may come forward to listen to the Children's Sermon. When the sermon is done, there is usually a Special Music selection, and then Barrett Daff (the Minister of Children and Youth) will lead the children to the classroom for Children's Church. Parents need to pick up the children when the worship service is over. They are not allowed to leave the room unless they are going to their Sunday School classroom. Acolyte Schedule: We enjoy having our children light the candles at the beginning of the 11:00 service in "Big Church". It is a beautiful way for us to start the service, with the children bringing in the light of Christ. Kids sign up a few months in advance during children's church.
