| Rules and Guidelines For all children and youth events and also apply to the chaperones
Appropriate Dress: 1. No two-piece swimsuits or revealing one-pieces. If the youth has nothing else to wear, they may wear a colored t-shirt over the swimsuit, or else not swim. 2. No Spaghetti strap tank tops. Each tank top must be able to fit two fingers for each strap. 3. No short shirts (mid-drifts) or shirts tied up as to bear the midsection. You may not show your belly in the presence of the opposite sex at any time. 4. No short shorts. The shorts should not come up past your fingertips when your arms are resting at your side. If you tend to have exceptionally long arms (people come in all sizes), the only other acceptable length of shorts are ones that have a 3-4 inch inseam. You can buy these at Old Navy (I have bought a few pairs myself). If your shorts seem questionable, an adult of the same sex has the right to ask you to measure the inseam of your shorts, and if they are shorter than 3 inches, you will be asked to change clothes.
Appropriate Conduct: 1. First Rule when rough housing: DON’T DIE! 2. There will be NO foul language, coarse joking or crude actions toward yourself or any other person. 3. No inappropriate touching- yourself or other people. 4. No laying hands on someone with intention to cause harm. This includes slapping, grabbing, punching, hitting, biting, scratching, or pulling hair. 5. Pranks are O.K. as long as they do not destroy property, harm another person, or do not bother people uninvolved in the prank. 6. Youth trips and events at the church are designed for fellowship and developing relationships with God and with others at the church. Boy-girl relationships are bound to develop, but please refrain from kissing, 'holding' each other, or sharing any other display of affection that may make others uncomfortable, or set a bad example for those around you. Entertainment: 1. CDs and CD players are permitted on most trips; HOWEVER, the cds being played must either be Christian, or a decent secular cd that must be approved by a chaperone prior to trip. There will absolutely be NO eminem, sugardaddy, ludacris, 50 cent, Nelly, Lil John, Missy Elliot, or any other questionable artists. If we discover that a youth is listening to these performers, we will confiscate the cd, and the youth will not get it back except at the discretion of their parents (we will give it to the parents directly). 2. No alcohol or tobacco products are permitted at any time. 3. No illegal drugs or evidence of having taken or sold some. 4. No magazines with dirty pictures or articles encouraging poor behavior. 5. Movies must be rated PG or G. NO RATED R MOVIES (One exception: the Passion of the Christ.).
Discipline Strategies 1. Warning 2. Privileges taken away(must stay with an adult for the day, no game time, etc) 3. One pass for a FREE RIDE HOME. The child will be sent home and their parents called. Repeat offenders: May not be able to go on future activities (but may always come to Sunday school, Worship and Bible Studies, of course!) Hopefully we will never have to get to step 2! But things do happen, so I made this guideline in the event we should have to use it. I have an explanation for every rule, so if you have a question, please feel free to bring it to me!
